At Darling Sweet, our slogan – “Take Your Time” or “Vat Jou Tyd” or “Thatha ixesha lakho” – is the philosophy that
guides us. Crafting our handcrafted treats requires time, care, and meticulous attention to detail.
We believe our products are best enjoyed the same way – slowly and with due intent. In the rush of daily life, we

OUR PRODUCT RANGE
Everything started with our Tannie Evita’s Classic
Toffee. Our flagship toffee range features ten
irresistible flavours, blending classics with
innovative twists. We also offer eight delectable
soft caramel flavours. For something different we
have our delicious toffee spreads available in three
flavours. And our latest addition is our Proudly
South African Traditional Fudge.
OUR STORY
Darling Sweet began as a bold dream shared by two
creatively minded young men with a passion for tradition
and a love for their hometown. Inspired by the beauty and
charm of Darling, Frits van Ryneveld had a sweet idea – to
create something special that visitors could take home as a
reminder of their experience in Darling.
In 2013, Hentie van der Merwe, our co-founder, embarked
on a journey to recreate the perfect old-fashioned toffee,
inspired by long-forgotten recipes and traditional
techniques. During countless late-night experiments,
Hentie perfected our signature butter-rich toffees. The
result? Delectable, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
During July 2014, Hentie and Frits brought their vision to
life by establishing Darling Sweet, a toffee factory
dedicated to crafting authentic, preservative-free treats.
OUR TOFFEES
Available in 30g toffee bars, 45g snack packs,
150g boxes of toffees and gifting options such as
our 200g & 360g Assorted Toffees and our 300g
toffee bar gift box.

OUR FUDGE
Our fudge is our latest addition to our
confectionery range available in 115g packs. We use
traditional handcrafted methods – just the way
Ouma made it!
OUR SPREADS
Our spreads are made in two different flavours
Tannie Evita’s Classic and Honey & Salt. Our toffee spreads are delicious on pancakes or hot toast, as a sauce or filling in cakes
and desserts… or by the spoonful.

Swartland working village with numerous tourist
offerings. At Evita se Perron you will also find
Darling Sweet & Swartland Kitchen, three
sources of delight for visitors with local charm,
handcrafted treats, and a rich heritage. As a key
tourist destination, we not only offer a unique
experience but we also create jobs and support
the town’s economy. We are proudly part of the
Swartland as we merge creativity with tradition.
